As parents we all know the importance of reading. We want our children to learn to read , and to learn to love books. One of the best ways to instill a love of reading in our children is to start reading to them at a very young age. And one of the best type of books to read is one that not only interests our children, but teaches them values as well.
As part of the ongoing effort to provide parents with tools to make the job of raising children in today’s society a bit easier, Baby’s Brilliant teamed up with illustrator Salva Ferrando to write a book that young children will not only enjoy listening to, but one that will also help instill the important message of acceptance to our children.
Geared towards children ages 24 months to 5 years old, “It’s Alright to Look Different” is the heart-warming short story of a little chick who was born a different color than his brothers and sisters. Because of the way he looks, the other chicks separate him from the group and ignore him. Then one night, danger appears in the form of a hungry fox, and the little chick is the only one who is able to save them.
Written with a fun, rhyming cadence, children will be captivated by both the words and the large, colorful illustrations that help bring the story to life. Toddlers will love hearing it read aloud, and beginning readers will be able to repeat the simple text and fill in the rhyming words. With lovable characters, and an endearing storyline, It’s Alright to Look Different is a great way for young children to learn that just because someone may look different does not mean we should treat them different. Available on Amazon.com, “It’s Alright to Look Different” will make a wonderful addition to your child’s library, and is truly a story they will love to read again and again.
